Hoax sleight of hand cherry Pours clear amber with a thick white head. Aroma of lactose and salt. Taste has tart cherry notes with a slightly spirituous lactose element. Palate has slight vanilla on the nose.

Sample at the Sour Beer fest in Boston on 6/15/2019 Vinous light oak and tart and it's just dripping with stone fruit flavor. Very nicely made tart beer.

Update 4/8/20: Recipe has changed so instead of Simcoe, Amarillo, Mosaic, Rakau and Citra, it is now Citra, Strata and Rakau. Old version: Can pour into nonic pint glass from the Beeracks. Appearance is cloudy dark orange/light brown with light sparkle at the edge of the glass, finger-width off-white foamy head with fair retention and light leggy lacing at the top of the glass. Aroma is nondescript sweet/tart fruit, milder orange/citrus, candied fruit, cracker background. Taste is apricot, sweet fruit, citrus. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, thick, late frothy texture; soft carbonation and finish as taste with faint, dry lingering bitter. Overall, sweet fruity but lacking an identity. Fair enough but not a standout. 7,4,7,4,14 - 3.6 New (4/8/20) version: Can (date 20021) pour again from the Beeracks. Appearance is opaque dark orange-light brown with light sparkle at the edges of the glass, 2-finger rocky white foam head with good retention and nice leggy lacing. Aroma is citrus, mango, nondescript fruit. Taste is moderately strong, vague citrus, fruit (stone? melon? berry?) with grainy backbone. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, grainy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with dry, lingering bitterness with yeast and malt. Overall, the change in recipe only modestly changes this. Would be interesting to have the two versions side by side but still pleasantly fruity but pretty nondescript with nice appearance and mouthfeel. 7,4,7,5, 14 - 3.7. Average = 3.7

Can pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is cloudy orange/yellow/light brown with trace sparkle at the edge of the glass, finger-width off-white head with poor retention and light leggy lacing. Aroma is lemon citrus, slightly musty, bready malt backbone. Taste is lemon citrus, late cracker. Palate is medium side of light-to-medium bodied, smooth, thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste with late pleasant bitter. Overall, likely somewhat muted hops as this was 4 months old but still decent with a gorgeous mouthfeel. Drinks more like a DIPA. Will try to re-rate at some point.
