Bereits im Antrunk ist das Weizen sehr sauer, im Hintergrund vollmundig hefig. Deutlich zitronig, das Bier wirkt mehr wie eine Berliner Weisse als wie ein Weizen. Spritzig, im Mittelteil breitet sich das saure Aroma aus und wirkt etwas vollmundiger, die beinhaltete Zitrusnote nimmt etwas ab. Die vollmundige Hefigkeit bleibt weiter im Hintergrund während die Säure, nun gepaart mit leichter Herbe, langsam abklingt. Ein typischer Weizenbier-Trinker wird es wohl nicht sehr mögen, ich als Fan von sauren Bieren bin mehr oder weniger begeistert! 11/12/11/12/5/11

Draught at the Gerbeaud Pub, Budapest on 8th August 2007. Pale gold and hazy with frothy white head. I found it to be bursting with flavour (albeit compared to some fairly tasteless lagers consumed earlier in the week). Some dry bitterness and smoke harmonise with the background aniseed-scented sweetness of the wheatbeer. An enjoyable pint - sad if it has retired now.

Sampled draught at the brewpub. In the cellar of this café/fine bakery in the midst of Budapest's shopping district you'll find a small brewery. Their darker beer is a fine German style schwarzbier. It comes brown/black and very hazy, has nice rich roasty aroma and thick, malty mouthfeel. Loads of black malt, gives coffee flavoiur and a hit of metal. A warning though. This beer can trick you into believe that you are in Bavaria.
