On tap at Pizza Port’s Barrel Blast. Probably the best beer of the day for me! Pours with a pitch black body with a deep iodine brown head that leaves amazing lace. Head stays for the duration and the body coats the glass. Textbook appearance for a big Imperial Stout. Aromas of oak, oxidation, coconut, and rich chocolate. Flavors of fresh coffee, chocolate, syrup, coconut, tannins, brown sugar and tons of vanilla from the barrel. Syrupy, oily, viscous and mouthcoating. An amazing beer!

Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad barrel event. Very dark brown, dark brown head. Aroma of boozy chocolate, similar taste. OK.

On tap. Pours with a black body and a tan head. Aroma of coffee, leather, acetone, paint, brown sugar and cola. Flavors of cola, vanilla, grainy and chocolate. Silky mouthfeel with decent carbonation. 3.5

On tap. Pours with a hazy golden body and a lasting white head. Aroma of coriander, belgian phenolics, candi sugar, orange zest and rye. Flavors are extremely estery, with huge note of orange, candi sugar, caramel. Finishes dry with a good amount of alcohol. Citrus in the finish. Lively, notes of rye. Spicy yeast finish.

Tap samples and a growler. 7%. Pours with a hazed golden body and a lasting white head with good lacing. Aromas of citrus, orange and lemon, grain, windex, grass, mango and raw grain. Flavors are citrusy, mango, crystal malt, yet dry. Crisp. Grassy with some lingering bitterness. Dry and crisp. Well done.

On tap. Almost clear orangey brown with a dense and stable beige head. Sweet burned caramel in the nose with piney hops. Quite full-bodied, a little low in carbonation, distinct burned caramel, nuts and a little ashes. Has a vague oxidized touch. Intense aroma hops in the finish, but not overly bitter. 141210

On tap. Hazy golden with a massive shaving foam style white head with good retention - looks like whipped cream out of a can! Somewhat dry and citrusy aroma with some yeast. Medium body, dry fruit, citrus and yeast with a distinct, astringent bitterness. 141210

Draft. A dark red beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, grapefruit, and hops. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of malt as well as medium notes of caramel, yeast, and grapefruit, leading to a very bitter finish. Thanks yespr for the effort of getting me this.
