33 cl bottle served in Chimay chalice. A reddish brown pour with grey to tan head. Aroma is low and rather unpleasant: sweaty feet. There's also a hint of strawberry, barely noticeable. Dry sip, neither crisp nor dank, a little low on sourness which renders it heavy. Bah.

Bottle, 0.33l. Deep amber pour, half finger frothy off-white head. Good retention, some lacing on the glass. Malty nose, toasted, sugary, hints of caramel. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation. Fizzy mouthfeel, average texture. Balanced bittersweet taste, starts off sweet with bitterness kicking in the background. Aroma of toasted caramel, toffee, sugar. Mild grainy notes, herbal, some spiciness. Grassy hops, subtle fruity notes. Medium lasting finish, dry, lingering bitterness. Definitely not an IPA like the name would suggest, more like hoppy red ale. Not bad actually.

Bottle, 0.33l. Deep amber pour, one finger frothy off-white head. Good retention, lasting head, good lacing on the glass as it goes down. Not bad on the nose, malty, notes of caramel, a bit toasted, sugary, some liquor notes. Medium body, soft carbonation. Oily texture, chewy, soft mouthfeel. Bittersweet taste, more on the sweet side. Aroma is heavily malty, strong caramel presence, toasted, wood notes. Grainy, mild herbal spiciness, hints of sugar. Quite boozy, strong alcohol presence, dry, lingering burn on the tongue. Some off-notes that are also quite noticeable, stale grass and cardboard. Medium lasting finish. Drinkable but not something I'd go back to.

330ml bottle. Clear, dark orangey, golden to amber colour with small to average, thick, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally grainy and strawy, malty and slightly fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of yellow apple, green apple, yeasty doughy overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, pale and caramel malty, fruity and minimally citrusy hoppy, notes of apple, red, green and yellow apple, a touch of lemon. Slightly oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, very fine carbonation, lingering, bitter hoppy finish carries still some fruitiness as well. Not bad.
