Bottle, 2l, courtesy of Marko, shared at Vrteška 2017. Clear golden, short lasting white head. Upon opening the bottle stink spreads a meter around. Malty, corny, sweetish, bland, somewhat bready, light bodied.

2l bottle from Billa Retfala. Pale golden, white head. Shared en route to Vrte?ka. Aroma... Meat and corn. Dry taste, sweetish corn, vague bread, metal, light alcohol?! Flat citric touches. Stale. Godawful. Also, "zanatsko" means "craft" in Croatian, so basically, craft breweries can’t call craft "craft" in Croatian because of this shit. -4 on overall because of that. Carlsberg (Croatia)’s needlessly cynical move to call their worst of the worst like this landed them on my shit list right now and they should be on yours. Fuck them.

0.5 l bottle at Budweiser pub, Kvatri?, Zagreb. Clear golden, small white head. Strong corn aroma, light vegetable and spice. Light sweet, corny. Watery. Soft carbonation, light body. Not good.

Backlog. This was first hefe I’ve ever tried. Nothing out of ordinary here, pretty much average in every possible aspect. Usual watered down hefe. However, it was nice for a change, and (back then) it was something different. I wonder just why were all Cro macro weizen doomed to failure? Retired, all of them. Really a shame, perhaps the market just wasn’t ready for a "different" beer? In any case, it would be nice to bring back those beers in the market nowadays. I’m pretty sure they’d do better then back then.

Pours clear golden, topped with medium foamy and non-lasting head. Sweet malty nose with cardboard all over it, some dust and pears as well. Sweet and malty, just a hint of bitterness. Thins and watery body, metallic aftertaste. Basically, all that can go wrong with a lager.

Bottle, 500 ml at Curry Bowl, Zagreb. Pours amber with medium off-white head. Caramel, malty, some sugar, bit bready. Sweetish. Medium bodied. Better than expected actually.

green plastic bottle 2000ml. -from Konzum Karlovac. Golden coloured, medium sized airy white head, dust and bread in the nose. Bready, weak grainy, slightly watery and short bitterish finish. Just another useless supermarket lager.

Bottle, 0.5l. Pours dark copper body with small white head. Poor retention, leaving some lacing. Smell of malts and yeast, slightly metallic. Thin body with kinda creamy texture, regularly carbonated. Taste is moderately bitter. Aroma of malts, yeast, corn syrup, grains, metal. Grassy. Faint presence of hops, a bit artificial. A touch of caramel. Metallic bitter aftertaste, thankfully not too aggressive. Overall, decent. Always a better choice then regular Pan lager.

Bottle, 0.5l. Dark ruby pour with minimal off-white head. Smell is malts, yeast and metal. Slightly woody. Thin body with watery texture, regularly carbonated. Malty sweetness and metallic bitternes. Aroma of malts, yeast, corn and grains. A bit woody with a touch of licorice. Very slightly roasted. Medium metallic acidity, especially in the aftertaste. Medium finish, somewhat dry. Overall, mediocre effort. However, if you’re going for one of Pan beers - go for this one.
