draught at Zly Casy beer festival Prague, May 2009. Hazy golden yellow, mid-sized creamy white head. Hoppy nose. Malty base with some herbal-grassy hops and a touch of boiled peas (?). Malty-fruity with a touch of veggies. Not outstanding but solid and interesting.

aroma of roasted malt. Beautiful colour and large, creamy and consistent head. Not as sweet as many Czech dark beers, quite dry and full of taste (coffee, caramel and roasted malt).

Flip-top bottle:Deep amber coloured, mid-sized tanned head, lacing and quickly diminishing to a small, stable creamy layer; a mix of dark malt, toasted and roasted malt in the quite dry aroma; robust dry (malty-) bitter flavour, light bodied; lingering malty, a bit coffeeish finish with a little sourness detectable. A good example, well crafted.............

Draught at BBF06 as Derér Helles. Golden colour, small white head. High bitterness, not very pleasant. 4 3 4 3 11

Draught at BBF07 as Derér Avar Lager. Hazy golden colour. Nice, stable, creamy white head. Nicely citric flavour, a little fruity. Medium bitterness, slightly rough. 5 3 5 3 12

Draught at BBF13 as Derér Spezial Gehopft. Crystal malt aroma. Caramelly flavour. The same caramelly hoppiness as many American pale ales, but without the bitterness or alcohol to balance. 6 3 6 3 13

Draught. Weak, slightly roasted, but pilsnerlike aroma. Dark brown colour, small creamy head. The flavour is quite roasted, as well as the aftertaste. Flavour also has a little fruitiness. A bit thin, but this is of course Schwarzbier.

Auch ich kam in den Genuss dieses Bieres auf einer Bierbörse. Ein wenig wässrig kommt es daher, im selben Moment auch malzig. Im Nachgeschmack kommt eine dezente süße hinzu. Lässt sich gut trinken. Test vom 15.8.2005, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 10,9,10,9,-,9 - 9,26
