Tap at Noord-Hollands bierfestival ’17, Alkmaar: Hazy orange colored brew with an to sweet bitter taste to be an IPA, miss completely the smokiness. Hints of caramel and faintly citrus.

Tap at Noord-Hollands bierfestival ’17, Alkmaar: Hazy yellow colored brew with an spicy and dry bitter taste. The pepper is very well used in the Saison, very well hints of citrins and lemons.

Bottle at home. From Sterk Amsterdam. Best before 05/2018. Pours unclear amber with massive offwhite foam. Smells sour and yeasty. Sweet malts, caramel, licorice, dried up yoghurt, dried fruit, leathery, nutshell, dry earthy leaves, herbs and spices, light pepper, some sage and coriander. Moderate sweet and quite bitter, something light salty and sour too. Medium body, quite heavy malty, strong carbonation. I was expecting a smoked beer by the name. It’s a weird murky earthy and slightly fruity Sahtanic ale.

Cloudy straw yellow colour, fair soapy white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma wheat, yeast, lemon, orange. Taste light sweet and bitter and sourish, wheat lemon, very light salty notes. Sweetbitter and sourish aftertaste, lemon pith, chalky and spicy notes, bit salty on the tongue. Light body, watery texture, average carbonation, nice refreshing witbier.
