33cl bottle from Brouwdok. Thick creamy off white head. Hazy amber pour. Not dark enough or chochlatey enough to be a stout. More of an amber beer

Bottle shared. Gusher. Very hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of big Brett (infected I’m guessing) with citrus, Belgian yeast and light fruity notes. Flavour is moderate sour. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours unclear yellow, huge white head. Smell is intense, sharp bitter - yeqsty, dry, much like a saison. Taste is very sharp bitter, with a lemon-like , almost sour note ( even though I would not call this sour ) very dry, much lemon taste actually. sharp, as well as bitter. Thinner side on the MF , and too much carbo. Slightly metallic. Ok beer !

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Heavy gusher, exploded out of the bottle upon opening, usually an ominous sign. Regular, thickly lacing, pale greyish white, moussy head over a hazy ’old gold’ coloured beer with a suspension of yeast equally divided over the liquid. Sweet malty aroma of cookie dough, cornbread, soapy wheat, honey, fresh orange peel, old cake, mango, stewed apples, iron, bubblegum, biscuit, touch plastic, popcorn. Fruity, estery onset, sweet pineapple, banana, apricot with an orange peel freshness to it, crisp and quite strongly tingling carbonation, bit minerally and somewhat sourish, over a yeasty and malt sweet middle phase, bit spicy, bready, somewhat grainy, lightly biscuity in the end, where a dull leafy and peppery hop bitterishness appears for balance, but not quite enough: malt sweetness is the Leitmotiv here and accompanies every sip from the nose till deep into the throat, and due to insufficient hoppiness, the finish is a bit on the watery side as well. I could swear some corn is included in the mash... Almost reminds me of overly malty, somewhat darker pale lagers, but shows more estery ’top fermented fruitiness’. Drinkable alright, quenching even and fortunately not teeming with off-flavours, so pleasant enough, but boring and one-sided. I liked their stout much more.
