17th July 2024
Cask at Chelmsfaasarhd Beer Fest. Near clear deep amber brown beer, small tan head. The malts bring mild sweetness and a little caramel - chocolate. Ripe fruits and then very late on, the chilli starts to bite. It keeps going well into the aftertaste. A thoroughly entertaining affair but, not something for the middle of a beer festival. The chilli means business.

Cask at Victoria, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly roasted malts with hints of chocolate. In the mouth it has a layer of sweetness above some underlying bitter notes. Flavour has liquorice and roasted malts plus traces of lactose nd later hints of dark fruits, ash and cola. Finish is dry and slightly sticky. Overall quite nice – despite the finish.

Pours a clear golden colour with a small frothy white head that settled. The aroma is grainy and yeasty with some citrus notes. A light grainy taste, not much sweetness, wheat and estery flavours with a light bitterness.
