Description

--Bottled, from Beerdome. -- Black, minimal, beige head. Sheer coconut aroma. Sweet with mild tartness, full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and whisky, all drenched in coconut. Turned into a gimmick by coconut.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown, almost black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, fading, beige to tan head. Roasty, chocolately, minimally grainy, dark malty aroma, hints of couverture, Belgian chocolate, whiffs of cold coffee, toasted dark bread, ashes, toffee, dark caramel, very weak, fruity overtones with a touch of red berries, dark berries, plum; relatively weak aroma overall. Taste is roasty, slightly grainy, minimally bready and chocolately, dark malty, caramel malty, notes of dark caramel, a touch of toasted dark bread, chocolate, treacle, fruity whiffs of plum, aspects of rye spiciness; vestiges of alcohol here and there, but well hidden alcohol overall. In a way more watery than viscous texture (somehow in-between), smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Complex but not intense, pretty cautious for a 10%+ brew - not really exciting on its own, but probably a good base beer that should profit from barrel aging.
