Description
Mad Hatter Brewing Company was set up by Gaz and Sue in 2013, with just one grand in their back pockets, and a glorified home brew set up. The brewery has always punched above its weight, and was championed from the start by the brilliant Port St Beer House. They produce weird and wonderful beers alongside some classic pale ales, stouts and IPAs.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Murky amber body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of lemon, tomato and grapefruit. Flavour of minerals and straw. Thin body with a watery texture. Weak fizz. A decent sessionable beer.

'Can. A mistaken purchase because I hate cucumber. Don''t mind pickles or tzatziki though. Anyway. Unclear pale gold w a white head that''s soon gone. Smells strongly of cucumber, but slightly dehydrated and no peel. A little tart, somewhat slippery. Tastes amazingly like tzatziki with a dry salty finish that''s parching. Clever but I don''t like it and can''t drink it.'

Can. RAD Beer. Thick as a bag, carrot orange. Slim halo of white. Nose has sliced mango and canned peach. Creamy oats. Some bright citrus. Hint of spice. Taste is sweet and fruity, with a decent poke of citrus oil bitterness. Smoothie like on the palate. Low carbonation. More bite of bitterness. Juicy and lightly bitter to finish. Very nice.

Can. RAD Beer. I’ll miss this brewer. Thick, raspberry red. Pink foam. Nose has blackcurrant. Some lemon. Some woody notes. Bit of plum juice. Taste is quite dry, with a little tang. Very light body. A little watery. Fine carbonation. Short, drying finish.

440ml can. Pours hazy red with a small white head. Aroma of strawberries, strawberry flavoured sweets rather than the fruit itself. Taste is sweet strawberry, creamy lactose/vanilla, citrus. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.

440ml can. Murky orange with barely any head. Aroma of sweet overripe mangoes, and I think coconut. Taste is the same, it's basically a mango smoothie, thick and juicy, also definitely getting coconut notes from it too, slightly pithy bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied, thick, smooth, soft carbonation.
