01/10/2013 La Tanat (tap). Bruna, torbida, schiuma beige non molto abbondante. Al naso sentori di malti tostati e luppolo, note erbacee e una punta di agrumato, leggerissimo metallico. In bocca ha una base di malto importante, tostato e finale molto amaro, lungo e persistente. un po’ sgraziata forse e l’alcol si sente troppo. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Andrebbe rifinita, forse la cotta precedente era migliore.

23/09/2013 La Tana (tap). Ambrata, torbida, schiuma media bianco sporco, non molto persistente. Al naso sentori leggermente agrumati ed erbacei, note di malto, non brillantissima ma più che discreta. In bocca va un po’ meglio, si apprezza l’equilibrio delle componenti malto/luppolo, il finale è abbastanza pulito. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Così così.

Bottled 330ml. -at Cafeteria Boulevard, Irun, Basque Country. Dark golden/amber coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, mild hoppy alcoholic nose. Moderate sweet malty, light caramel and fruity hoppy taste with mild notes of alcohol and rather bitter finish. Not so balanced but not bad at all.

Tap at Bir & Fud, Roma, 21/06/13. Listed as ’Pontino - Go Black’. Black with a medium sized tan head, good lacing ensues. Nose is light roast, tropical fruit sundae, chocolate, light charred notes. Taste comprises burnt sugar, bitter grapefruit, cocoa dusting, good roast bite, light smoke, mineral notes, touch of hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, roasty finish. Decent CDA.

Tap at Brasserie 420, Roma, 21/06/13. Light black with a medium sized tan head. Nose is light roast, touch of chocolate, hoppy backnotes. Taste comprises light roast, touch of tropical fruit, chocolate, molasses, hop presence. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light roasted finish. Ok stout.

Keg at Luppolo12 - Roma. Pours deep brown with a beige foam head. Baking cocoa and charry roast aroma. Light to medium sweetness, rich baking cocoa, bitter earth, some roast. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Burnt bread in the finish, some darkened pine, light bitter grass, earth, toast, burnt wood, gritty cocoa. Good.

24/05/2013 Brasserie 4:20. Nera, quasi impenetrabile, schiuma leggerissima, virtualmente assente. Al naso sentore predominante di rosmarino, note acidule stridenti, poi emerge il tostato, con note di caffè. In bocca è migliore, un tostato caffettoso con note speziate, peccato per il finale veramente troppo astringente. Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Servita anche un po’ troppo calda. Abbastanza deludente, pur nella sua originalità . Perchè non dosare meglio gli ingredienti?
