Draught @ [ DOE - Olfestival Kobenhavn 2014 ] @ Tap1, Ny Carlsbergvej 91, 1760 Copenhagen, Denmark. [ As WinterCoat Grätzer ].Unclear matt medium yellow orange color with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, smoke, meat. Flavour is moderate sweet with a long duration, pale malt, smoke, wood smoke and meat smoke, thin. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20140522]

On tap at Cafe Gemmestedet. It pours an unclear, dark golden to amber body under a minimal sized off-white head. Next to no carbonation or head actually. The aroma has some caramel and cellar, as well as coriander, citrus zest and some grass. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, with some grass and pine cones, as well as caramel, cellar, coriander and orange notes. Next to flat on the palate, full to medium bodied and semi sweet. The finish has caramel, some grass and pine cones and some coriander and orange. A quite nice beer, but it certainly needs some carbonation I think. A bit surprised, as the brewer was checking the tap and verifying the beer was in good condition seconds before we got served. Guess it’s like he wants it, but it doesn’t suit me very well. 140804

Handpumped, 4.2% at KØ14 as Wintercoat Best. The aroma is nutty at first, turning to a pungent grainy note, but not sour. Hazy amber colour. Small off-white head. The flavour is a lot like the aroma, also starts off nutty, but turns out to have a good, rustic, chewy grain note.

DØE, 14. Slightly hazy amber with small white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, caramel, hop and toasted. Flavour is malt, caramel, hop, toasted, medium sweet, biscuit and a little bitter.

Handpumped at KØ14. Good roasted aroma. Clear dark brown colour, red shine. Nicely roasted dark malts, a little bready. Fruity berry note in the finish.
