On gravity at Bristol Beer festival, 19/03/10. Deep gold in colour with next to no head. Light aroma of digestive biscuits with a whiff of apricot. Flat, subdued flavours of sweetish malts and fruit with a short, bitter finish. Forgettable.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2010. Black, thin tan head. Good choc and lovely dark fruits on the aroma. Touch of charcoal. Certainly Westerham yeast is present, even a touch of funky manure but in a good way. Really good, funky and I love the manure. Superb.

Cask handpull at Sankey’s, Royal Tunbridge Wells. Good looking copper brown colour with lasting off white head. I love Westerham beers. The yeast is just so distinctive. Good condition, well served. Decent best bitter, with decent yeast, ok malts, bit biscuity especially with this crisp biscuit finish. And then lasting bitterness that lasts in the mouth for ages. Lovely best bitter. Gorgeous, one of the best bitters I’ve had in ages. The yeast, the biscuit the bitter finish. Awesome.

Cask handpull at Market Porter, Borough with MagicDave. Chestnut colour with thin off white head. Pretty good sweet best bitter from one of my favourite Kent breweries.

Cask gravity at The Haywain, Bramling. Clear dark amber colour, thin beige head. Wow the hop on this is stunning. Sherberty green. A real explosion of flavour on a bitter. Really impressed with the flavoursome hops. Not bitter or overly citrusy, but really sherberty and fresh. Love the hops, but really not bitter. Wonderful

Bottle 50cl. @ Chriso’s pre GBBF Shindig ’09.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, oxidide malt notes. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090801]

50cl bottle from the farm shop at Polesden Lacey (NT), Surrey. Golden amber with a thin off-white head; aroma of toffee and grassy hops; crisp to start but becoming sweet and sticky in the mouth; bready malt flavours with a light herbal bitter finish.

on tap at Blakes of Dover. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy with a small and quickly disappearing head. Fruity-hoppy nose. Solid malty background with citrusy hops and hints of marmalade, lingering hoppy-bitter finish. Refreshing and tasty summer beer.
