Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.[ Trade by VikingHammer ]. Clear dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, burnt. chocolate, coffee, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [20090511]

The force wasn’t really with me at the end of a long beer tasting night when I decided to wield my light saber cheap 1$ bottle opener. Pours pitch black, with mocha head. Aroma malty, plenty of coffee, caramel. Taste, roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate. Worth a future rerate.

courtesy of Tony @ OTH. Pours copper, white head. Aroma , brown sugar, malt, dark fruits and lots of booze. Taste, this is a damn booze bomb, lots of caramel malts, some oak/wood, vanilla, dark fruits, light mocha.. Plenty of sweetness, with a barrel like mouthfeel. Scotch ale or not, this is a fine beer, better reckon the power of the Wet Willy.

This one is the sneaky good IPA, by that i mean, it comes in a can, the graphics look like one of those energy drinks, so i wasnt expecting too much. but the flavor is great, sort of middle of the road IPA, not too hoppy, malty, piney, citrusy. a surprising well done IPA

Bottle at Craig’s house, Edinburgh. Thanks for sharing this with me Craig 20-03-09 The aroma I felt was very Great Divide Yeti like, uncannily so. Poured black with a tan head, taste is bitter initially but this soon faded, typically raosty and with oodles of cocoa and coffee. An enjoyable beer that promised more than it delivered. Black thin tan head ... sweet meeaty roast malt nose ... bitter front ... big roast malts ... big aggressive all for the Empire stout... light vanilla ... decent stout but not over impressive... Light amber coloured body with a very thin, if that, white head. Aroma of funky malt, strong low a.a. hops and a mild metal scent. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong assertive malts dominate with a bit of sugar and caramel coming afterwards. Aftertaste shows some metal and malt, but a good complexity to finish it out. Overall, not such a horrible beer, but not one of my favourites either. I did like the can, as I always do though! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York.

bottle 2004 Pours clear medium brown with virtually no head. Complex aroma fo brown sugar, dried fruits, vanilla and alcohol. The flavor follows the aroma. Sweet, smooth, full bodied.

Hazy amber. The aroma is chewy with caramel malts followed by spicy hop. Lots of spicy hop on the palate, and a huge stack of stale, chewy malts. I like the noble hop idea, but the malts are terrible.

12 ounce can from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a reddish brown color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel with an herbal nuttiness. Taste is toasted malts, stone fruits, nuts and leafy hops. Some toffee as well. Medium bodied.
