Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.

Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

Bottled. Dark reddish-brown with a beige head. Roasted malt, juniper berries and wood in the aroma and flavor. Bitter and dry finish. First time I tasted a stout with juniper-berries, but it was quite nice. Thanks a lot to Papsoe for sharing this and 24 other beers and a cider on this long and enjoying night. (060518)

Bottled. Honeyish golden colour, not much head. Honey, alcohol and hops in aroma. Sweetish metallic honey on flavour with hops kicking in and giving some balance to it. Aftertaste is very weird mix of bitterish hops and sweet honey. Alcohol fits in, but disturbs the whole.

(On tap) Dark mahogany with a reddish hue and a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Good, full body with quite a high malt sweetness. Hard roasted malt, but nothing really burned here. A light bitterness in the finish. 200506
