Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.

Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

Bottle @Saxo. Nearly clear amber, small offwhite head. Strong honey aroma, some alc and a little glue. Floral honey flavour, some spice and warmth. Ok, nice to have a Danish mead that actually tastes of honey...

Bottle 50 cl. Pours amber with a slight haze and a small, beige head. Sharp oaky tannins in the nose. Rich, sweet body, caramels and a lowish carbonation. Again fairly sharp oaky notes while the Cognac is kinda hidden. I guess it's a decent Winter Warmer but the additions simply aren't all that well integrated. 240221
