Rerate, new labelled bottle straight from the brewery, as Nua Juleøl. ABV is 6.5%. General impression is much the same. Original rating: Shared 500 ml test bottle from the brewery. ABV unknown at the present. Deep brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderately spicy aroma, some caramel malts. Nice and medium sweet and malty flavour, caramel and spices.

Dark ruby color with a bubbly tan head. Coffee, mild roasted and some fruity notes. Ok body and an ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Almost flat carbonation. A quite ok flavor with coffee, roasted and some fruity notes. But it is completely destroyed by the flat carbonation. A bit sad. Could have been an ok porter.

500 ml bottle. Unclear golden/orange with a big, foamy white head. Mild fruity aroma with some yeast in German wizen direction. Light and refreshing in flavor with light malt, light fruit and yeast. Body feels a bit thin and aftertaste is quite short. Drinkable refreshing German style wheat beer, nothing special really but will to the trick as a thirst quencher.

Bottle. It’s an almost clear one, golden in color, and with a nice carbonation producing a dense, medium sized head. It’s rather weak on the nose, with citrusy, piney hops and some grass, the pale malts hiding in the back. It’s crisp and clean on the palate, medium bodied and with a tad much carbonation, but that will of course help clean the palate from the mayo normally eaten with crabs. There’s resins, grass and some hay in the flavor, a good bitterness and just a touch of pale malts and orange zest. Rather short finish. Overall, a nice beer, but it must be straight from the cooler, as it gets rather bland with higher temps. 140913
