Description
We started a Brewery as a means to contribute to a truly artisan craft. We believe in friendship before finance and are happy to help others in this industry as we have been helped by those who came before us. We are bold believers in the fact that a well made beer can cool your spirit and warm your soul.

Our flagship Mason Ale Works production brewery opened in 2017 at our San Marcos Urge Common House Location. Here JJ “Sweet Meat” Jimenez, our Director of Brewing Operations, helms the wheel. All of our can releases like our popular Jambi West Coast IPA and Respeto Mexican Lager are brewed and canned in these four walls. We also crank out an extensive line-up of one-off releases out of here.

Can courtesy of sonnycheeba, thanks Tim! Clear bright golden color. Mixed citrus aroma. Taste is bitter grapefruit and pineapple, dry finish. Nice to see a clear IPA with some bitterness for a change!!!

Medium dark brown color. Very rich sweet boozy nose with tons of oak, caramel, dark fruit, roasted malts, burnt raisins, brown sugars in the nose. Thin mouth, fairly boozy, a bit rough, tons of whiskey notes with dark fruit and roasted malts. Just too rough and boozy in mouth to be enjoyable. Very warming finish. Nice nose but quickly goes down hill.

12 oz can, thanks to blipp’s FBW contest. Four months since canning. Aroma is bready, coriander, clove, yeasty. Pours hazy golden with a diminishing white head. Taste is dry and faintly tart in the finish. Really tasty wit.

Pour is a clear amber with a large white head. Aroma is oily hops with some caramel malt. Flavor is a heavy almost roasted malt with a very minor hop. Finish is a little bitter but a bit too malty to let the hops do their thing.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice huge coffee with the bitterness and roast of a good stout. Flavor is coffee and bitter roast with some red berry. No alcohol is detected and there is a nice roasted coffee and malt left on the tongue after the swallow. Nice coffee stout, plenty of coffee and roasted malt.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is a honeysuckle and melon hop with some citrus tartness. Flavor is some citrus hops with a large bitterness. The flavor is kind of lacking with not en ought of a pronounced hop profile. Decent but not great. The hops seem to have faded and there is no date on the can so I’m only guessing this may be past it’s freshness date.

Pour is a hazy straw with a large white head. Aroma is a big coriander with a little clove. That is the most coriander I’ve noticed in a beer. Flavor is again a huge coriander with a little wheat malt. Not a real wit beer but this is a nice wheat beer with an overabundance of coriander.
