Description
In 1564 for the first time a brewery is mentioned in Svijany. In the following years the brewery was owned by different families. In 1912 it was bought by brewer Antonín Kratochvíle. The Kratochvíle family operated the brewery till 1939. After the war the brewery was confiscated and later nationalized. in 1990 the state enterprise Vratislavice nad Nisou was created, which included Svijany Brewery. In 1998 the company Pivovar Svijany was created, which became the new owner of the brewery. In 2005, it was transformed into a joint-stock company. Gradually Svijany became the strongest regional brand with national importance. The popularity of the brewery is increasing and it is gradually being developed into one of the largest independent breweries in the Czech Republic.
Svijany Brewery is wholly Czech owned and remains one of the last in ‚domestic‘ hands.

Tap @ Citadela Cafe, Prague. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light caramel and light hoppy - grass. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 220723

Pours a dark brown with a frothy white head. Aroma of toasted malt. Taste has smokey malt notes, some more toasted grain, bread. Palate has lingering smoke notes, some more burnt grain. Good. Thanks to Zuza!

Burk från SB. Klar gyllengul vätska med medelhögt skum. Stor och maltig kropp, relativt söt men också relativt besk för att vara en tjeckisk pilsner. Matig och stabil. Trevlig

Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.

Butelka 0.5l (BB 11.09.2023). Podrasowany pils ale o dziwo dość lekki w odbiorze choć ciało wyraźnie wyczuwalne, walory smakowe jednak nie zachwycają, ot taki do wypicia bez zachwytów.

Gyllengul klar vätska med vitt skumlock. Arom av bröd, ljus deg och aningen gräs. Lätt kladdighet i malten men inte överdrivet söt. Balanseras med en lätt rivig och gräsig beska. Värmande och lätt eldig munkänsla.

Can from Systembolaget. Golden with a white head. Grass, malt, mild herbs and notes of alcohol. Drinkable but not that interesting.
