500ml can from May #ratebeersupertasters. Pours deep amber. Bit of pine on subdued nose. Thin. Off balance with caramel malts overwhelming slightly astringent pine. Nah...

355ml can into schooner glass. From Liquorland, Inverell. Pours a very pale yellow. Large fluffy white head, medium carbonation. Nice nose of pineapple and guava. Spritzy, easy drinking, fruity but not too sweet. Finish is dry and fruity, reminiscent of Reisling (but much nicer). Excellent quaffer.

Can. Deep clear gold with a white head that's soon a scant coat. Toasty aroma with a mix of citrus and pine needles. Something else subtle I can't identify - so it's not a beefed up version of their normal Pale Ale. Just about medium bodied. Drysh with a nice toasty edge and a bitter bite that's bit piney but more spicy. I like it but it's a bit of a shame the citrus gets lost. Bold without being shouty. Another pretty good one.

355ml can into schooner. Thanks to Ratebeer and Beer Cartel. Crystal clear golden beer with a tightly packed foamy white head and many tiny bubbles. Nose is pine, earthy, some background caramel. Nice. some lacing. Excellent body, smooth and viscous. Slight effervescence on the swallow. Superb taste and finish. There's grapefruit and stonefruit then a lingering woody dry finish but also hints of raisins and Turkish delight. Excellent beer, complex yet easy to drink.

355ml can into schooner. From Railway Tavern, Glen Innes. Amber beer with large frothy white head and medium carbonation. Aroma of caramel biscuits and lemons. Light body, zingy and bitter. Finish is very lager-like, notes of malt and vegetables with some lingering tin. Not bad but definitely a 'junior burger' in Pirate life's range.

Canned 3/20. Pale clear gold with a cm of white head. Aroma of sweet pineapple, pine, mandarin, light bread. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very clean with just a little malt sweetness and a hint more from the fruit before a snappy dry and somewhat resinous finish. Austere, almost aperitif style beer Kind of what IPLs are going for but rarely find. Offers punch not grunt (or character) for the ABV. Interesting.

Can. Clear deep red with a cm of light beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, a bit of sticky breadcrust. Upon a taste there's some tropical fruit and red grapes too. A little on the thin side. 3- Not all that sweet but then doesn't really dry out - rather lets the bitterness overtake it. Quite like the finish but what comes before is sound but dull.
