Just sit back and relax, beer is on it’s way!
Brouwen is ons vak, mensen samenbrengen onze passie. Of dit nu gebeurt via events, live brouwdagen of workshops, we want you to be a part of it!

Draught Small off-white to cream head; almost black beer. Roasted grains, very light smoke, bit whisky-ish, ends with some ashes. Smoked, ashey, roasted flavours, quite well-integrated. Quite a bit of restsugars, malty OTOH. Cacao warming up, dark grapes. Medium bodied, quite slick, good carbonation. Quite good. Don't expect Bamberger Rauch specifications, but as a mild smoked porter, quite rewarding.

Kveik IPA by the Mortselarij in Mortsel near Antwerp, vichy bottle from - I think - Van Callenberghe. Quite a strong gusher, with foam spouting out of the bottle upon opening; opening it over the sink, I could reduce losses to a small portion, but foam kept creeping out of the bottle neck for a few minutes after that. Thick, snow white, thickly plaster-like lacing, coarse-bubbled, foamy head on a cloudy yellow blonde beer with vague khaki tinge and bits of orange-coloured proteins near the bottom of the glass. Aroma of ripe Cantaloupe, overripe banana, yellow kiwi, some granadilla and mango, cake dough, meringue, withering leek or sweet onion, pomelo and mandarin, rainwater, damp kitchen towels, moist sweet bread, vague iron, dank stale armpit sweat note coming up in the end. Sweet, very fruity onset, kveik effects mingled with hop fruitiness, sourish undertone accompanying sultry effects of melon, guava, granadilla, orange and banana, somewhat stingy carbonation (especially for what seems to be intended as a NEDIPA), bit painful even; full, fluffy, soft mouthfeel. Doughy and cake-like malt sweetness with 'harder' cereally core, lingering sweet fruitiness, towards increasing tropical and citrusy hops, papaya- and mango-like with a mandarin-like edge, adding late peppery bitterness which eventually even becomes a bit wormwoody, though sweetness remains the main flavour. Warming to somewhat wry, calvados-like alcohol highlights the end and interferes just a bit too much with the kveik and hops. Kveik yeast is not too well controlled here, the hops are generous enough but the unbridled fruit basket effects of the kveik manage to even top that - as one of our most eminent reviewers states below, too much kveik and not enough IPA indeed. Weird, somewhat unbalanced construction, a bit too 'wildly' going in all directions without forming a real unity - I was expecting more from this brewery, but I am confident that one day they will present a truly good NEDIPA, because I know somehow these guys are able to pull it off. Benefit of the doubt in this case...

Hazy amber colour, nose of citrus, coriander, wheat. Lots of carbonation, very yeasty, spices. Unbalanced, overcarbonated. This is not a Weizenbock at all.
