Taste is slightly sweet grainy, cereal, yeast, weeds, hay, wheat, harsh grass, bark, minerals. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh mouthfeel with tiny hints of a warming chili touch far back. Fair enough.

On tap at Ujevnt, Bergen. Very dark mahogany with beige head. Aroma of dark malt, dark fruits, caramel and dried dark fruits. Fairly sweet with malty and slightly roasty notes. As Hansa IPA. Many thanks for this can to Cunnigham. Clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, fruit and hops.

On tap at Bergen Ølfestival. A lightly hazy, but almost clear, brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma has prunes and butterscotch, some roasted grains and bread crust. It’s sweet on the palate, yet dry, with a pleasant carbonation level. A decent bitterness too. Lasting roasted and butterscotch flavor with some bready malts. Overall, not very good, the butterscotch is too evident. 140905
