Description
We're doing simple eats, craft beer, and good times in the heart of a community that loves all three. The Chicagoland area knows the name, Mickey Finn's, and most have them have enjoyed a pint or two of our most popular brew, our Amber Ale. Our 100-year-old building has served as a local landmark and a gathering place for lots of families and friend crews, year after year. And as long as we've been in business, we've been true to who we are, and we always will be.

GTMW 2023. This is good, not as yeast forward as some; noble hops, dry, bready malt, and very good, smooth palate. Dry, earthy finish.

Tap at Mickey Finns. Eatery, soapy hairspray. OK enough one you get accustomed to it, but wouldn't want a full pour.

Tap at Mickey Finns. The rye really fills it out, not really a Schwarzbier at this point. Rich, hefty malts. Mossy dry chocolate. Deep brown black body, steady beige head. Really solid beer overall.

Tap at Mickey Finns. Super juicy white wine tone, perhaps a little too much with the CGX. Big Nelson and big Riwaka. Toasted coconut white grape. Solid.

Tap at Mickey Finns. Really nice lager. Earthy hop tones, smooth unfiltered body. Clean, fresh, all around enjoyable. Zesty, earthy, viny hop tone.

16oz can. 8.2% Sweet, estery. Enjoyable enough but not even close to on the level of an authentic Belgian Xmas beer. A little unruly, not that impressive. Not for me.

Wow, no ratings since 2006, people really need to come out here. This year’s version was listed as 7.5%. I got two separate 4oz samples of this. Golden pour with little head retention. Aroma is sweet and alcoholic, sweet doughy esters with alcohol slickness. Flavor was candy sweet and dough, a little too much on each end, just need to reign the yeast in a little bit. Alcohol present. Its a good beer, a decent version of a brewpub Belgian.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with a toupe head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice grassy hop note with a hint of pine and a strong grain backbone. Flavor has a combination of grassy hops with some nice grain notes and a hint of alcohol.

Sample from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates completely. Aroma has some sweet Dark grains and banana with a hint of backing Belgian yeast. Flavor begins with sweet bread and caramel with a bit of banana in the finish.
