Draft at Gokden Crust. Black within brown edges. Very think looking. Despite the name this is. It an overly sweet beer. It's not overly boozy either. Aroma thick cocoa crust with heft that may be covering booze and some acidity. Easy drinking on the palate for style. Light maple and undo mean light coming through in flavor. Can't tell it's barrel aged. A sparkling finish to easy the flavor. A long after taste of slightly dry, mineral sweet malts. Light maple sits around. Just a little bit of stickiness and a light moderate malt bitterness. I'm happy with it.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a murky very dark brown color with a medium sized foamy tan head that faded quickly but left decent lacing. The aroma was strong with notes of red wine, whiskey, wood and tart dark fruits. The flavor was tart and fruity then yeasty with toffee, cracker, and a huge whiskey presence. The whiskey bombards you and lingers for quite a while before giving way to caramel, sugar and an odd herbal/medicinal undertone. Amazingly long finish. Moderately full bodied. Very interesting.

Tap IPH robinson. Big & black. Tan head. Oddly intriguing sweet combination on the nose. Dark chocolate first taste. Somewhat sweet, almost cloying. Flat. Yes, sweetness is almost overpowering but never quite gets there. Roasted dark choco finish. A little boozy in the end. More civilized and a little better to take compared to most impy stouts in this alky range.
