Draught Hazed, deep red-chestnut coloured, with a small yellow head. Very fruity nose, celeri (raw), some liquorice, melanoidins. Fruity, bit watered-down flavours with some wood, chestnuts or other, preserved, bulbs. Vinous finish. Quite watery feel, seems diluted somehow. OK, but certainly not great.

Draught Very stable fine-bubbled off-white head over veiled lemon-yellow beer. Faint citrussy aroma, and indeed, honeyblossom. Watercolourpiant, so-called "frangipane" Belgian buns, if not sweet; slightly oxydized malts. Very slick, restrained alcoholwarming. Not my type of beer. But at least, it’s not infected.

06/03/2011 - on tap @ Zythos Beer Festival (2011-95)

Little cloudy dark ruby to dark brown beer, off-white aery head. Aroma: caramel, some chocolate, heavy yeast and savory (bonenkruid)? Definitely some ancient spice my grandmother used to cook with. MF: light carbon, light body. Taste: caramel, fruity, raisins, sour apple, some yeast. Aftertaste: pretty dry and hoppy with citrus touch.

From tap at ZBF2011. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is slight spiced and phenolic. Initial sweet and mild fruity. Going rather dry herbal and phenolic over the tongue. Ends dry and herbal honey. Lasting herbal honey and phenolic impression.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet and sour fruity aroma with a shy spicy touch. Quite bitter flavour with a dry and astringent mouthfeel, light to medium bodied with a mild carbonation. Bitter and astringently spicy (ginger) taste with a fruity touch towards the finish; ginger- and peppery spicy aftertaste. A rather harsh and not very rounded brew. 10.I.11

Little head left; shards of lace; clear, cola-coloured beer. Very spiced, with dark malts and some conifer-like aroma; frying fat. Explosive liquorice tastes, like "japwater", we used to make in childhood. Slick, and empty. Rather poor try.
