Keg at The Hanging Bat. Murky ruby body with a thin beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of cranberry, nutmeg and wood. Flavour of Pinot Noir, underripe plum, red apple and subtle marzipan. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Light fizz. For the strength, I found the flavour profile to be quite subtle. Tasty and interesting.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Black body with a medium beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of treacle, prune, nuts and Marmite. Flavour of chocolate cake, sulatanas, rich roasted malts and cocoa powder. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Rich and delicious. I loved this so much that another two 1/3 pints were ordered straight away. If it was available in bottle, this would be ever-present in my fridge. Very, very good.

The taste is crisp, dry, tart, vinous, oily, tangy, good mouth - pucker, strawberry, raspberry, oak, vanilla, balsamic/red wine vinegar and some sherbet with a drying finish. Medium body and soft carbonation with an oily mouth - feel. Nice depth of flavour. Really rather tasty.
