It all started with a neighbor sharing a homemade beer. Liz saw how excited Jamil was and bought him a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas. Jamil became obsessed with brewing the perfect beer and became a homebrew legend in the process by winning a first-place medal in every known beer, mead, and cider style category. Eventually, his passion to brew was too strong and Jamil and Liz decided to take the plunge and open Heretic Brewing Company.

We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Draft at Payette. Bright, clear golden, small heaf disappears. Aroma and tadte are grainy, corn, slightly vegetal. Fairly meaty in body, but a bit too sweet.

Tap at Hair of the Dog, Phloen Chit, Bangkok. Poured a hazy copper colour with a round bubbly white head. The aroma is yeast, citrus fruits, biscuit dough. The flavour is moderate sour with a fresh crisp, yeasty biscuit light citrus palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

On tap at bier thirty pours out crisp red topped with a pink head. Nose is big berries currants and sour tart notes. Taste is more of the nice crisp tart sour notes and berries.

Can. Hazy straw beer with a cream head. tropical fruit aroma. Tropical fruit and light citrus flavor. Medium bodied. tropical fruit and light grapefruit linger with light pine.

Tasting at Oakes' Manor, can
Murky pale blond colour, no head. Strong hoppy aroma, zesty, a bit tropical. Lean and dry, a bit sour, a bit chalky, strong sourish orange juice.
Drinkable, but it doesn't go anywhere, a bit dirty, quite weak.

Can from Boise Co-op. Milky yellow pour, foamy head fades to flat. Fruity, tropical aroma, taste too in line with the NEIPA style. Tasty, but nothing special.

Golden colour with no head. Looks like morning piss. Aroma and flavour are quite perfumed and floral. Otherwise typical thin bodied and sour Berliner Weisse.
