Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Schroppfy. Pours a cloudy amber with a lacing off-white head. The nose has a little exotic fruit and dryish(!) caramel accents. Light body, again this interesting lactic tartness. Overripe fruitiness, rustic metallic notes with a dry finish. Again hardly any hops. Very far from what you’d normally associate with a Dunkel! 080911

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Schroppfy. Pours a cloudy yellow with a lacing white head. Tart fruity nose. Fairly light body, lactic acidity, bonbonish banana accents, very dry and almost ashy. Ends very mouthdrying almost astringent with the hops being fairly downplayed. Again a very interesting Lithy beer! 080911

Slightly hazy golden color, steady creamy off-white head. Mineraly, buttery, slightly sour nose. Medium-bodied. Nice leafy hoppy flavor, good malty backbone. Slightly mineraly finish. Reminds me about Czech yeast beers! Good.

Small offwhite shiny lasting head. Hazy amber body. Mealy bready aroma with herbal carraway notes. Dry-acidic soft metal vinegar and apple taste with mealy grassy notes. Light body. Mealy astringent mouthfeel. Dry mealy lemony soft metal aftertaste. Interesting. Rather like gueuze. I hope that’s intentional. (0.33l draft, Snekutis Uzupis, Vilnius.)

Second attempt, same score: Medium offwhite head. Hazy deep yellow body. Earthy nutty oily aroma with caramelly mealy notes. Yeah, that smells like kaimiskas. Dry-sweet nutty caramelly sugary taste with mealy spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish fruity resiny earthy aftertaste with nutty honey notes. Lovely example of Lithuanian farmhouse ale. (0.5l bottle, from Bamb Alyne, Vilnius. BBD 2012-11-21.)
