Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge beige head - not very pale, but pretty. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel, with just a whiff of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of hops, leading to a bitter finish. The hops only lends it bitterness - I need more aroma hops, please.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy brown with an orange hue and a small beige head. The nose clearly has chocolate combined with hard roasted malt. Medium body, very hard roasted malt and an extreme malt astringency. A little rough around the edges. 110910

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. British hops in the nose. Solid body, plenty of roasted malts, caramel and fruit - quite sweet really but balanced by a massive dose of hops in the finish. Clearly well-crafted, I’m just not a great fan of British hops. 110910

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a lacing off-white head. Aroma is distinct - utterly DISTINCT - dark chocolate. Even the the chocolate bitterness comes through in the aroma. Bitter, dark roasted and deep black chocolate flavoured. Bitter and bone dry into a linger chocolate finish. Lasting bitter and dark roasted chocolate impression. Sadly a bit thin on the body but a unique experience on the chocolate intensity.
