12oz bottle. Refreshing, solid Berliner. The raspberry isn’t overboard or super artificial, which is nice. Medium bodied. I like this better than a lot of sours out there. OK.

12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 7/15/2017. Pours lightly hazy golden/amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of juicy/lightly tart raspberries, lemon, lime, green apple, cherry, white grape, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/salt, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart raspberries, lemon, lime, green apple, cherry, white grape, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/salt, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and light tangy raspberry notes on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/juicy raspberries, lemon, lime, green apple, cherry, white grape, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/salt, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light dryness from acidity/tartness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately grainy/acidic, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.3%. Overall this is a very nice fruited Berliner weisse. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mellow tartness/acidity. Really well balanced all around. Not super jammy, but has a nice showcase of the fruit with classic base style flavors. A very enjoyable offering.

Pour is a total black with a large tan head. Aroma is some nice roasted malt with a cherry cordial but also a big alcohol presence. Flavor is sweet roasted malt with some rum soaked dark fruit. I did not get a huge presence of Belgian yeast esters. I did get a bit hit of candi sugar that stays on the tongue for a while. It’s a decent flavorful stout a bit just a bit too sweet for me to give this a higher rating.

12oz can. One of the better beers I’ve had from Tallgrass. Really nails the style, well done. Big aroma at first, a little bit of odd cocoa bitterness. Big, sweet, full bodied. Deep roast, resinous hops buried underneath the big malt tones. Coffee, chocolate, brown sugar. Not perfect, but enjoyable.

Can. A- Sharpie, roasty, booze. A- Black color, black liquid, light brown head. T- Black licorice, roasty, bitter cocoa, sharpie, booze. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, strong finish. O- Tallgrass just seems to be taking their Buffalo Sweat beer and ruining it in every direction. If you want a sort of pure RIS, this is close, just not very balanced in my opinion. Very roasty and bitter and really doesn’t taste like the base beer at all if you ask me.

Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big peach, apricot, melon, lemon, pear, apple, pepper, light banana/clove, honey, candi sugar, wheat, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big peach, apricot, melon, lemon, pear, apple, pepper, light banana/clove, honey, candi sugar, wheat, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of peach, apricot, melon, lemon, pear, apple, pepper, banana, clove, honey, candi sugar, wheat, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/creamy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is an excellent tripel! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink. A touch on the malty side for the style; but still has impressive complexity and balance, with adequate carbonation and dryness. A really enjoyable offering.

Can: Black with a large, thick, dark tan head. Chocolate, mild licorice scent. Taste is sweet, chocolate malt, vanilla, yeast. Very soft and creamy.....light woody bitterness. Pretty good.
