Really fresh hop flavour combining grapefruit, watermelon and really fresh passionfruit. In the mouth there’s a lovely spearmint citrus combo. Lots of malt to balance it. Good length. Lovely.

Growler, 10C. Clear amber with an inch of white head that lasts well. Aroma is floral and grapefruity with some light tropical and biscuit notes. Sweet biscuit, a little caramel, mango and pineapple, citrus struggles a little to shine through. Doesn’t dry out much. Resinous bitter end. Pretty good and very gluggable.

I really think the ESB title is misleading as it really is more of an APA than anything. Copper with a white head. Rustic hop aroma with a medium malt profile and some sweetness. Round malty finish leads to a dryer hop aftertaste. Quite hoppy with a hefty fruit tone. Very enjoyable once I got past thinking it was going to be an ESB.

On tap at The Scratch, August 2014. Hazy golden/amber with a small head. Hops, fruit, some mango, pineapple and hay. Not that bitter. Refreshing and easy to drink.

(On tap) Clear dark amber brown. Subtle and pleasant aroma with a mix of dried fruitiness and hoppiness. Medium body with with good carbonation and some stickiness. Great taste. This is primarily good hoppy IPA; however the foretaste is richer sweeter and fruitier. Unusual and works really well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle) Opaque lack with decent tan head. Good aroma with almost burnt dark roast malt, hints of coffee and chocolate. Amazing palate, rich, creamy, velvety and with good carbonation. There is also some stickiness to the palate. Good taste, with dominant very dark roast malt giving strong bitter, almost burnt flavours. Layered on this are rich sweet toffee notes and hints of chocolate. No hit of the alcohol. The finish is long and mixes sweetness and dark, rather than poppy, bitterness. An impressive beer.

2015 rating: Hazy light amber, earthy caramel and piney hops, and similar balance on the palate. Earthy with a floral, almost spicy accent. Good bitter.
2013 rating: Hazy fruity, almost English-tasting. Good complexity, caramel malts. Clean yeast but otherwise English-tasting. Not particularly distinctive. 7-4-7-4-15 = 3.7

Pours brown with a fading head.Nose shows rich bready melanoidin malt and spicy, herbal hops.Pretty similar flavours in terms of malt but the hops have more presence with a pronounced herbal bitterness.Could use more carbonation.

Tap. Gold with a white head. Aroma of lemon and herbs. Light bread, lots of lemon. Firm bitterness. Plenty of flavour, just a little harsh and wants for a soft mouthfeel. Dry finish. Probably wanted warmer weather.
