12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, red apple, citrus peel/zest, woody, light peppercorn/pine, toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, red apple, citrus peel/zest, woody, light peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, red apple, citrus peel/rind, woody, peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great; light lingering resins/rinds after the finish. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.2%. Overall this is a delicious English IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Great balance of juicy/earthy US/UK hops, English yeast, and bready English malts. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

2016 bottle purchased in Michigan. Pours a pitch black with a small beige head that dissipates. Roasted malt, coffee, plum and tart cherry aromas. Light brett notes as it warms. Slick and oily mouthfeel, with spritzy carbonation. More roasty malt and coffee notes. Lingering sourness. Tastes like something is off though, weird bretty sourness going on.

$3.99 bottle from Gilly's, Rockville. Pours slightly hazy golden with a small offwhite head. Aroma is crisp green grasses, cracker. Flavor is bitter green grasses, dry cracker, slight earth. Lots of pils flavor in the back end. Finishes quite dry.

12oz bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is chocolate ash tray notes pit fruit notes. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts chocolate ash and some dark fruit notes.

Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 5.4%. Overall this is a delicious flavored coffee porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, caramel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Great fruity/nutty coffee presence, balanced salted caramel flavors, and well rounded porter malt complexity. Never overly roasty or bitter. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
