Hazy amber beer, no real head. Tangy orange and orange peel. A little smoke provides an odd juxtaposition! Dry finish. Alright!

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Pours pale amber with a quickly disappearing beige head. Aroma is sort of aged bread with some sugary malt and floral hop. Or maybe more complicated than that. There’s a lot of malt and a lot of floral and maybe citrus hop. Actually goes a bit astringent, yet it makes me think of a light barley wine. Confusingly complicated.

At SAVOR. Poured a ruby/amberish color with a small white head. Aromas were notes of cherries, smoke, and roasted elements. Flavor was roasted, smokey, with a woody character that was quite interesting.

Bottle. Pours a transparent medium amber-gold with a foamy white head that sticks well to the walls of the glass. The aroma has some light herbal/citric hop notes and a nice biscuity caramel malt note. More malt forward than I’m used to from CA pales but I can appreciate the direction. The taste starts sweet with some good notes of bread and citrus and finishes with a gentle but persistent bitterness. A good citrus rind/vegetal bitter note lingers in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is somewhat creamy but gets a tad watery. A pleasant surprise.
