Caretaker of Vermont Craft

Take a Hike!ยฎ

Inspired by the 273-mile hiking trail that traverses through the Green Mountains, Long Trail Brewing Company has been a caretaker of Vermont craft since 1989. Moved and motivated by the local culture and surroundings, we work hard to create beers worthy of our Vermont roots. From small batch recipes developed in our farmhouse-turned-pilot-brewery to wider ranging staples like our flagship Long Trail Ale and freshly formulated Trail Hopper IPA, our brewers are committed to crafting a trail-worthy family of beers.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from The City, Plaistow NH. Appearance is hazy light orange with significant light and dark floaties, fair sparkle, finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and fair soapy lacing. Aroma is strong pine with citrus and tropical fruits, mild herbs. Taste is citrus dominant early, pine dominant late with tropical fruit more background throughout. Palate is medium bodied with frothy texture, lively carbonation and dry, crisp bittersweet finish. Overall, an above average, refreshing IPA that you'd feel OK about bringing to a party but it doesn't stand out in a crowd.

Pours hazy deep gold into a shaker. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Mango and pineapple aromas. Soft with dusty garlic and onion upfront turning to dirty mango skin before the lasting pith finish.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is cloudy, dark yellow-light brown with a few chunks of dark sediment, HUGE sparkle, finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong citrus, pine, milder tropical fruit, bit of grass. Taste is citrus, pine and tropical fruit as aroma, light malt character at finish. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and balance of sweet, juicy finish with some bitter pine. Overall, not the strongest aroma and flavor but a fair NEIPA. Reminds a bit of Sam Adams' NEIPA.

Draught @ Albion. Faintly cloudy golden yellow with creamy off-white head, sweet malty aroma, low carbonation, sweetish malty taste with mild resinous bitterness, thin body, medium finish. Well covered ABV, but lacking character; more sweet than hoppy.
