Gravity dispense at Ealing BF, 06/07/16. Black with a decent khaki cap. Nose is rich roast, burnt coffee, molasses, dark fruit esters. Taste comprises light roast, toffee, charr, treacle, light spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough porter.

Chelmsford Summer Beer Fest. Cask. Clear gold beer, small white head. Light palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Light grainy malts, a whisper of sulphur. Smooth floral finish. The best thing to say about this beer is it’s not the dogs dinner that so many cask lagers are, but it is still not great.

Cask @ Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Clear golden with a small head. Ale textured, but the lager malt is incredibly stated.

Cask @ Leeds Station Wetherspoon, Leeds. Clear golden with a small head. Has a slightly dry pale ale type texture and very palatable in this respect, with a mild malty-bitterness.

Clear golden beer, thin head. Citrus aroma. Taste is sour fruit, bitter hop. A bit sickly.

Cask @ Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Golden with a small creamy head. Hoppy as you might expect, with a lingering dryness in its aftertaste. But there is a fruitiness to be found in the ale. Crisp and a few malts evident after a while.

Pendle Beer Festival 2016. Extremely dark and almost black. Has a smooth enough texture with a tasty fusion of roasted and sweetened malts.
