Sour with a touch of musk and funk. Right from the first sniff, you get an idea of the character of this beer. However, it lacks some of the body and fullness of the Belgian originals. Not bad, not great.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, floral, grass, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and solid balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; with decent strength. A bit too perfumy/piney with weak strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, floral, grass, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; with a great bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice DIPA. Good complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Draft. Mango and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet mango, caramel malt, and mildly bitter orange peel flavor. Pleasant and smooth.

Draft. Strawberry and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet strawberry and barley malt flavor. Nice fruit flavor.

Draft. Lemon, clove and malt aroma. Pale yellow with small head. Sweet lemon, clove, and malt aroma. Pleasant.

Draft. Strong raspberry and wheat malt aroma. Pale red with minimal head. Sweet-sour lactic raspberry and light wheat malt flavor. Very tasty.

Can @ home. Thanks to TheAlum for sending me this! Pours a fairly cloudy dull yellow orange appearance with a spidery off white head. The aroma has a really nice, authentic, spicy yeast. Some banana and spices. Spritzy. Grassy. So far so good. The mouth feel is kind of gooey and thick. Fairly sweet. Some twang, cane sugar, and banana in the mouth. Tastes stronger than it is. Some bubblegum and stone fruit as well. Man, this smelled like it was going to be herbal and grassy and great and then the flavor was gummy and too fruity. It’s OK but I wouldn’t want to drink more than one or two of these in a sitting.

Aroma: The nose is pretty full flavored, lots of grapefruit, some resin, and a bit of caramel
Appearance: It pours an unclear orange-amber color with an off-white colored head
Flavor: The flavor is along the same line, resiny bitterness with some malty sweetness as well
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a pretty solid mouthfeel, and a touch of heat
Overall Impression: It seems like so long ago that I was drinking this beer and watching Germany absolutely destroy Brazil. Hard to believe that was only July 8th. What a crazy game! As for the beer, this one is plenty solid. Worth checking out.

Taste of big peach, apricot, tangerine, lemon, banana, bubblegum, clove, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity tartness and earthy yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of apricot, peach, tangerine, lemon, banana, bubblegum, clove, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt sweetness; with a nice malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a very nice session Belgian pale ale. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
