On tap at Magnanimous - Seminal Heights, pours black, almost no head. Aroma is rich, with intense bourbon barrel, wood, a little iron, and roast. Flavour is complex as hell, revealing a wonderful bourbon barrel character, wood, roast, and some booze. Wonderful bourbon and woody character. Fantastic.

On tap at Magnanimous - Seminal Heights, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of allium, tropical notes, and some citrus tang. Flavour has some white wine lemon tang, allium, and some hopburn. Not the most expressive or vibrant character but pleasant enough.

On tap at Magnanimous - Seminal Heights, pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of tropical melony hops, allium, and some dankness. Flavour is super bright, with big melony hops, some dankness, light allium, and melon. Impeccably crafted, bright, and assertively hopped. Fantastic.

Decibel Metal and Beer Fest: pours red bright with a white head. Aroma is lightly fruity. Slightly sour. Mostly sweet and sour. Aroma is lacking and taste doesn't catch up enough.

Bottle from source: pours brown with pretty de minimis head. Aroma is apple brandy, alcohol, hefty maltiness. Taste is weirdly kind of thin, boozy, the barrel is probably doing more work than it should. Still has a pleasant sweetness and is very drinkable but leaves you a little underwhelmed.

Can to becher pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two and a half fingers of khaki foamy head which slid off at a nice pace to leave some mild lace
Aroma: roasted dark malts, some dark chocolate, light dose of milk chocolate, sly touch of coffee, and vanilla beans
Flavor: great blend between sweet and roastiness; subtle aftertaste of roasty coffee and vanilla beans
Texture: medium bodied, somewhat sesionable, pretty smooth along my tongue; finishes dark and roasty with that subtle vanilla beany-ness for balance
Overall: a very well brewed porter, I believe I can see it as an English one as the brewer suggests and possibly could be considered a modern take on the English style.
