August 2016: 750 ml corked & caged green bottle, as Szigeti Beer Herb, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Pale golden colour, huge white head. Fresh and strong aroma of newmown grass and herbs. Light bodied. Medium dry flavour, some yeast and herbal hops. Does not quite live up to the expectations from the aroma.

Komolyan mondom nem szeretem én a pezsegőt, de ez a szigeti engem is megrökönyödtet a karakterével. Ez a élesztő tényleg megtette a hatását és amolyan apró buborékos pezsgős jelleget ad a könnyed savany testnek. Enyhén a lambic típusú sörökre hajaz. Sőt! Gulbrun klar med fingerhøyt hvitt skum. Lukter korn, epler, urter og kokte grønnsaker. Lett. Halm, syrlige epler, urter og noe tørket frukt.

Grainy strange nose. Strange carbonation, hints of winey sourness, grainy yeasty dry. A the yeast is a bit strange but fits in well. Neutral-dry aftertaste, slightly sourish, interesting stuff!

KØLF 281214. Golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, apple, pear, grass, malt, grass. Flavour is fruit, apple, pear, grass, floral, yeast, malt. Medium body. Ordinary beer.

200ml bottle at home from Merkur Hoher Markt. yellow, cloudy color. small off-white head. very yeasty, fruity, light sour, peach. quite fresh and nice fruity sour smell. medium body, quite bubbly mouthfeel, slick mouthfeel. tastes lightly sour, acidic, citric, fruity, peach, yeasty. dry / light sour finish. decent. would put this somewhere in the sour category.

200 ml Piccolo, bottled 15/05/14, from Merkur Hoher Markt, Vienna.
Dark yellow, hazy body, with a big, frothy, lacing, white head.
Interesting aroma of green apples, lemongrass, ripe fruits, slight funk, bread, grass, sweet malts.
Taste is quite light, with sour fruits, citrus, bread, grass, some herbs, sweet malts.
Quite light, slick mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes medium bitter, a bit dry, zesty, hoppy, a bit herbal.
Interesting. The nose is quite unique for this style, feels a bit Belgian, the taste is also quite interesting, but too light for my liking. Overall quite nice, but this could have been much better if it had more body.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A clear, golden beer topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma is a bit weak, pilsner like with pale malts, fruityness and some grassy notes. Hay. Rather thin on the palate, with a soft carbonation level. Quite dry. Fruity flavor with a low bitterness level. Grassy hints, pear drops and some bitterness towards the finish. Sort of boring this one, but very pleasant anyway. Subtle. Pity the wrapping is nicer than the contents. 141228

750ml corked bottle from Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Gives a good shot when opened. A wheat haze to a pale golden coloured body. Lasting white layer leaving spotty lacing to the glassware. Wheat fruity aroma. Taste of peach and herbal hops with a little yeasty fruitiness to the ending. Dry and soft in the mouth. Food friendly. Strange to find this one in Tromsø (shared with the CNN people, UiT, Tromsø 18.12.2014).

Flaske 750ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Prøvd som matøl på lutefisk-middag hos Leifs 29 Nov 14. Gusjegulbrun. 0 skum. Svak urtearoma. Smaken er søt banan. Uvariert. Ble litt tynn til maten.
