The stately stature of the Grand Manse is accurately reflected in the bold beers that brewmaster Tim Thomssen prefers to make. 16 oz can from Tavour. Hazy orange golden, sparse head. Light tropical fruity aroma with a hint of dank hops. Taste is carried on a dense body, a little fruit up front followed by a big wave of juicy hops. This beer feels big, like a triple IPA, but sits at only 6.6%. A real nice treat.

Can: pours yellow with white head. Coffee and bell pepper. Taste is not great, but it does go down mercifully easily. Not great.

750ml bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet chocolate roast malts rich maple a nice vanilla kick and some cinnamon. Taste is more of the nice sweet maple chocolate coffee roast notes vanilla cinnamon.

750ml bottle pours out thick black topped with a small tan head. Nose is awesome big toasted coconut vanilla chocolate rich bourbon barrel notes. Taste is just as good big toasted coconut chocolate rich bourbon barrel vanilla. Very good.

750ml bottle from Tavour. Inky black pour, flat. Sweet aroma of chocolate, vanilla and coconut. Taste brings more of the Mounds bar vibe, with the addition of some barrel notes and a nice warm glow. Superb.

Super dark pungent mango coloured orange body with a bright, glowing rich creamy glow of pure orange and a thinnish, very fast-dying off-orange and creamy head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of strong passionfruit, guava, mangoes, oranges and a lot of melon notes here in the nose with a pulpy scent along with some big yeast and wheat notes, a dose of bread and dough and a softer coconut hint towards the end, but fairly straight-foward in terms of fruits and malts. Full-bodied; Super rich mango and papaya notes dominate here with a ton of fresh fruit flavours and complexity with the oranges and guava coming through as well and saving a bit of tartness on the end from the passionfruit, but this of course is all about the fruits and some good pungent malts with the alcohol hitting fairly hard at the very end. Aftertaste shows the rich orange and mango flavours front and centre but all the fruits seem to come out equally, especially towards the end when the sugars dominate the finish and lead the thick malts to a juice and even smoothie like complexity at the end rather than beer, even though the alcohol and yeast does come through, too. Overall, a very nice and incredibly complex, fruity beer, as most of their beers are - very nice to sample, especially at home on the coast! I sampled this 750 mL crowler (I've never seen this size before) won for FREE from BINGO night at the brewpub in Lincoln, Nebraska on 24-August-2021 for US$14,00 (menu price), sampled at my house here in Washington on 05-September-2021.

750ml shared with George's gang @ Green Point campground. Appearance: pours almost like and oil, dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: chocolate, bourbon, nuts, some roasty character. Taste: thick, but it not enough to compensate the sweetness, so a it's a bit sludgy, lotsoc nuts, very light roastiness. Overall: pretty good, but it lacks elegance I expected.
