Great beer, great service, great space. Boiler Brewing Company and tap room is located in downtown Lincoln in the historic Grand Manse building. The stately stature of the Grand Manse is accurately reflected in the bold beers that brewmaster Tim Thomssen prefers to make. Bottle shared. Pours a deep brown to black with a small tan head. Dark chocolate and and vanilla on the nose with some whisky and oak and maple as it warms. Definitely more maple as it warms up. Good kitkat wafer malt notes on the palate. Fairly chewy, good maple and chocolate notes throughout. Warming finish with some peppery rye.

Ridiculously chunky, pink, almost red coloured body with a perfectly opaque glow of pink with a deep, three centimetre tall bright pink head, as well, looks very nice! Aroma of watermelon, orange, guava and a dash of coconut, but tons of fruit, a lot of alcohol, malt and some nice lactose and fructose notes - this one is all about the fruits, for sure. Medium to Full-bodied; Super strong fruit notes dominate with a bunch of the summer notes at first with the watermelon,Β  strawberry and even some bananas coming through with a lot of body, bunches of clean fruit-based sugars and a solid malt backbone as well. Aftertaste is very nice with the alcohol at first that gives way to all the Fruits and finishes with a lot of malt, alcohol and some coconut notes that make this very tropical while being the middle of Winter. Overall, a nice 'beer' that really hits all the nice notes and leaves the palate fruity, dry and robust. Great to sample, and with my relatively simple tastes, these beers are the reason to come here to the brewpub, they are great and a seeming crowd-pleaser I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at the brewpub here in Lincoln,Β  Nebraska on 20-January-2020 for US$6,50.Β

Ever so slightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall slightly off-white coloured head that stays afloat for a while and leaves a nice lace. Aroma of very floral, grassy and orangey hops with a lot of yeast and grain and a dash of sweetness noticeable throughout and a strong alcohol bite towards the end. Medium-bodied; Strong rich earthy and pungent malts dominate with some oats or something thick, along with a bunch of sweetness and a good deep sweetness from fruits, with the hops and alpha acid bitterness coming through the entire time. Aftertaste shows some sweetness and rich hops, but the malt is key here -fresh and very easy-drinking with a lot of smooth flavours and a robust richness throughout. Overall, a very nice Imperial-ish IPA that is also slightly hazy-ish, showing some fruit notes and a clean sweetness. I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at the brewpub here in Lincoln,Β  Nebraska on 20-January-2020 for US$5,50 while enjoying the cold weather here.Β Β

Draft. A- Root beer. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Root beer. P- Medium body, average texture, high carbonation, sweet finish. O- This beer is exactly why I f***ing hate Boiler and their gimmicky ass beers. First off, this is root beer, I don't give a shit what they say. It might not be a full alcopop but I would but so much money on there been a exorbitant amount of root beer simply poured into the kettle. Not even a remote resemblance to a stout or even beer in general. High carbonation, straight up sweet soda flavor. But then to have the audacity to charge over $1/oz and not allow even a free splash to taste before buying. Boiler's owners and brewers have their arrogant heads so far up each other that I don't know how they continue to stay in business. Surely Lincolnites know better than this. Their awesome location might be the only thing Boiler has going for them. This beer is exactly why I've never wanted a brewery to fail more than Boiler. How do I even rate this? I hate everything about it, but I guess if I fall for their lie of a beer, I'll rate it how I would feel about rating an A&W root beer. P.S. Sorry if you used Mug instead, Boiler. Wouldn't want to offend you.

Draft. A- Caramel, coconut, chocolate, salt. A- Black color, black liquid, beige head. T- Caramel, coconut, chocolate, crackers, salty. Samoa cookie, sweet. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Really tasty, but most likely derived from artificial flavoring. Pretty damn sweet and super super salty. I've had goses that aren't near as salty as this. Could seriously do without that aspect but I suppose ti does cut down on the cloying sweetness. About 2-3 oz and this is outstanding. After 5 oz, I couldn't handle much more. Hard to put a finger on this one.
