Flaske, delt med Willy på brygga: nesten helt svart med mørkerødt skjær. Kort skum. Mørkbrent kaffe, aske, (over)modne solbær og et hint av lakris helt mot slutten. Saftig anslag og tørr avslutning. Behagelig bitterhet i ettersmaken.

500 ml bottle sampled in May. Clear dark brown, almost black body with a nice, big, creamy tan head. Aroma of dark malt, pine and Christmas spices like cloves. Flavor has sweet, dark malt, spices like cloves, cardamom and cinnamon with some kind of harsh bitterness. The spice flavor feels a bit weak and old, even if it’s five months after Christmas. Based on previous ratings, I believe the spice flavor was a lot better than this in December, but seems this is still way within the best before date that’s not too impressive.

Bottle 500ml (Vinmonopolet). Dark ruby, brown color, small brownish head. Rye bready, caramel in the nose. Medium-bodied. Ryeish, a bit burned malty flavor. Too bready for my liking.

500 ml bottle. Clear, reddish amber body with a rather small off-white head. Aroma is malty with some caramel and red berries. Not so strong in flavor, but quite pleasant, a decent rather average pale ale with a hint of red berries. Moderate bitterness. Fine body and average in aftertaste. Nothing extraordinary really but fair enough.

500ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge. Garnet red body, near-clear. Off-white head, faint lacing. Dark leafy hops on the nose, hints of grainy malts. Flavour profile of ripe red orange, berries and juicy malts. Dark fruity ending, bitter and sweet. Medium plus bodied. Pretty nice (hotel room, Oslo 15.03.2016).
