Dark brown. Head disappears quickly. Aroma of hops and chocolate sauce. IPA taste, but with chocolate in aftertaste. Well balanced and drinkable, but with too little hop punch to defend the.self-entitled "imperial IPA".

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell in London - many thanks to Gunnar! Pours clear gold with a frothy white cap. The nose has lightly bready malts, ripe orange, faint leaves. Light sweet flavor with dry orange, lightly toasted bread, cereal, low leafy bitterness. Light bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Well balanced finish with bitter grains, bread and orange rind. Decent.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.2%. Black colour, large to moderate tan head. Moderate aroma of fruity and piney hops, some roast malts in the background. Medium dry (or medium sweet, if you like) flavour - a little residual sweetness, fruity and piney hops are nicely balanced with moderately roasted malts. Good beer - a fine "Black IPA" in my book.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.2%. Dark brown colour, large beige head. The aroma has strong notes of brown and slightly roasted malts, also some fruity and piney notes of hops. The flavour is first distinctly malty with some sweetness, followed by equally distinct hoppy notes (fruity and piney) with a very bitter finish and aftertaste, some woody notes too. Lindesnes Brygghus has definitely left the pedestrian level of brewing!
