Description
It all started with eight visionary men who founded the “Vereinsbrauerei Berliner Gastwirte zu Berlin AG” on February 1st, 1872 in Rixdorf. They established a modern brewery within one year, which was opened on July 19, 1873. The first public serving takes place on this day. In 1890 the brewery decides, as one of the first breweries in Germany, to brew a Pilsen beer. It is called - based on its southern German relatives - "Berliner Kindl". In 1910 the brewery is renamed "Berliner Kindl Brauerei AG". In 2006 Berliner Kindl returns to its former location in the east of Berlin. The entire range is now brewed in the Berliner Kindl Schultheiss brewery in Lichtenberg.

Lattina.

Mild malty lager aroma, the malts are mild, and there is not much else than those malty notes. not malty sweet, just malty. 5/10
flavor is malty and slightly flowery, the distinct and strong bitterness towards the end makes the beer much better than otherwise.. however after a while the metallic and herbal aspets of the bitterness slowly erodes this raters patience. 6/10

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is grainy cereal malt with straw and soft grassy noble hop. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter, medium body. Fine specimen in the industrial Pils category actually, clean, grainy, some grassy bittering hop.

330ml stubby bottle. Cloudy pale yellow, small fizzy white head, minimal retention. Looks like a radler. Not much on the nose, some wheat and tart citrus. Quite sour with lemon and plain yoghurt notes and a wheat grainy background. There is a sweetness that balances the sourness. Light bodied with a nice fizz. Nothing amazing but I quite like it.

330ml bottle. Clear green, brief head and very little left on top. Aroma of artificial syrupy flavorings and wheat. Creamy malts mixed with a very artifical syrup, slightly sour. Quite clingy to the palate, a strange burnt caramel edge. I have no idea what woodruff syrup is but not sure I want to. Gimmicky without the quality to get away with it. Drinkable though.
