Can. Very dark brown with a modest light tan head. Aroma of anise, brown sugar, ginger, bread. Feels like it's going to be sweet and rich but then it's lighter than expected with spiced bread and firm bitterness. The spices (can doesn't mention additions but you'd guess this is more than esters) that threaten to dominate in aroma don't quite. Pretty good, fairly similar to their Dark Saison from a few years ago. A bit of a digestif vibe to it.

(Can) Pours black with a tiny tan head. Good aroma of chocolate, roast grain, hints of dark toffee / burnt sugar. Wonderful mouthfeel - very smooth, with fine carbonation. Great taste with a balance between sweet chocolate and dark toffee with hops providing some growing bitterness. Very nice.

More Canvent 2020 action. Golden. Vinous nose with some oak. Pretty much flat. Intriguing concoction this. Definitely oaked, some white wine character, but the good stuff. Bit of apricot and peach, but also tart. I'd drink again.

Can. Not really hazy. Just a bit murky and light amber. Some mango on nose, but not much. In the end, this is a just a somewhat fruit forward IPA. Disappointing.

500ml Can. Golden and slightly opaque. Loads of banana and esters on nose. That predominates in glass. I'm not getting much of the promised hops. I wonder if they've calmed a bit in the 7 weeks since packaging. Still very enjoyable.

Can. Black with a cm of tan head that soon fades to a coat. 3+ Aroma of chocolate, spices incl. chilli, prunes, Bourbon. The Bourbon doesn't obviously belong but seems less prominent after a while. A bit more than medium bodied, quite silky with lowish carbonation. Sweet and less roasty than I would have expected from either of brewery. Chocolate, cinnamon, plummy chilli and then a little chilli heat and bitterness at the end. I liked the way the richness deepens at first then the chilli and bitterness build towards the end. A little heavier than it needed to be, but good.

Can from Carwyn Collaborational box. Black. Chocolate and bourbon nose. Add some cinnamon and dried fruit and a mild chilli burn and you've got a pretty hefty mouthful of molé. It works but I do wish I'd saved this can for later...

Can. Long day, so can we take the rate in Dr Seuss format as read? Cloudy gold with an inch of white head that never quite disappears. Aroma of bananas (very ripe, verging on dried), oranges and lemons, sweet dough. 7- Not sure the bananas belong at all but there's less of them upon a taste - or at least the citrusy bitterness and a little booze counter them effectively. The finish is nice with increasingly punchy hops mingling with presumably yeasty spiciness. A bit below expectations but has things going for it.

From a 440ml can on 5/10/2020. Pours a nearly clear lighting golden with a small head. The aroma is modest, just a bit of tropical and stone fruit. Tastes of mango and melon, and is definitely on the sweet side. Finishes with a very gentle bitterness. The 8% is a surprise and it's super easy drinking. The mouthfeel is slightly slick, the carbonation moderate. Decent enough, but fails to excite. I much preferred V.
