Bottle. Crystal clear amber with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, some nuts, grass. And so it tastes - some grapes too, and some mild spices at the end. Sweet with modest bitterness. Not a thriller but well made and easy going.

Bottle, 13C. Clear bronze with a pale beige head that lasts very well and laces nicely. A layer of sediment adheres to the bottom of the bottle. Huge aroma of toffee, raisins, fresh dates, whisky, oak, orange peel, fruit cake spices. Sticky, low carbonation. Sweet and very rich with toffee, some dark Sherry and/or light oxidation, vanilla, raisins, dates. Spices and orange peel creep up to lift away the sweetness. Boozy but not brashly so. Whisky is not particularly prominent and it comes across as very English. Muscular but gracious. Excellent.

Bottle. Black with a tan head that coats the glass. Aroma of mocha, fudge, vanilla, blackberries, PX sherry. Low carbonation, very silky. Full bodied but not gloopy; certainly a slow drinker rather than a syrupy sipper. Sweet and fudgy with bitterness and spices - cardamon, vanilla, pepper - gripping just enough to lighten the load. Not all that much in the way of roasted flavours - they’re there, but very much integrated into the mix rather than the focus. Pleasant spirity waft at the end is really the only overt show of whisky. Sweetness is held in check a little better than the last version and the various elements are even more harmonious. Very classy stuff; I just wanted the roasted flavours to be a little more prominent. Earlier Rating: 11/13/2013 Total Score: 3.8Bottle, 12C. Black with an inch of dense tan head that hangs around. Aroma of mocha, dark berries, whisky via sherry and vanilla. Very silky, low carbonation. Dark fudgy sweetness, berries, little wafts of whisky and vanilla, dries out subtly towards the end. Slightly spicy there too. Just leans a little sweet for me over a whole bottle, but the whisky flavours are very elegantly balanced with the beer. Food match: Noodles Romanoff.

Tap. Just hazy gold with a small white head. Soft, slightly slippery texture with low carbonation - could have used just a few more bubbles. Wheaty and husky with very gentle lacto sourness. Salt shows at the end, the coriander has a faintly metallic taste to it. No biitterness. Grew on me a bit. Some berries and toast emerge. Very refeshing apéritif.

Bottle, 10C. yellow with a white head. Aroma of underripe stone fruit and their stones, old lemons, white grapes. Dry, minerally, highish carbonation. Not a strong taste, more of a fleeting classy waft across the palate. Tastes as it smells, maybe some apples too. Insubstantial in the way that good Champagne can be - an enlivening almost nothing.

Good night Australia, Its been fun! A nice send off, a clear crisp, tasty IPA. Bold but accessible, pine resin but enough malt to capture the novice’s attention. A new appreciation Of IPA from a different perspective.
