Pours dark brown with a large tan head.Nose shows potent fresh raspberry with faint roasted malt and cocoa underneath.Roastier flavours although the raspberry is still quite noticeable. Quite mild for a stout, very easy to drink.Too much carbonation.

Hazy light tan, light passion fruit and apricot nose. Mellow bitterness w overripe fruits. Really, it’s only 35 IBUs.

From a 330ml bottle on 17/12/2013. Pours a slightly cloudy light golden with a small head. Has a quite light aroma featuring fruit and honey. Taste wise, there’s something unusual there which I can’t quite put my finger on. There’s quite a bit of citrus and stone fruit in the mix, along with some honeyish notes, against a background of bready malt. A moderate yet quite distinct hop bitterness rounding things off. Has a fullish body for 4.4%, and the carbonation is medium. An unusual and quite enjoyable ale.

Bottle. Gold with a white head that laces well. Aroma is doughy with herbal lemon. Sweet with bubblegum and dough, firm bitterness with herbal lemon. Didn’t really grab me, but well made.

Pours amber with a large head.Nose shows Belgian yeast, spicy phenols along with lots of floral hops and soft light sweet malt. Very tempting.Similar flavours, reasonable floral and spicy hop hit. Also some Belgian yeast esters.Nice moderately high carbonation.Very well-made.

Bottle, 12C. Fairly dark brown with a beige head that fades to a sparse coat fairly quickly but then hangs in there a while. Aroma of stewed and dried fruit, leather, cola, light chocolate. Lots of dark fruit, dough, leather, dark sugars, light spices. Sweetness is held in check really well and there’s little sign of the alcohol. Very gentle bitterness, low-key spices. Lacks that mysterious restrained chocolatey bottom-end rumble that the better darkish Belgians have, but this is very impressive and wholly convincing.

Pours dark amber/copper with a large, lasting head.Nose shows fruit confectionery, big melon, paw-paw and lychee notes. Also some sweet clean malt underneath. Some of the fruit transfers through as flavours but its more about the masses of sweet malt. An assertive bittterness follows but not enough to fight the malt.Carbonation is a bit full-on.

[7/13] Bottle. Just hazy amber with a fine white head that laces well. Aroma of kumquats, peach, passionfruit, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. A little toffee, marmalade citrus, sweet stone fruit, some tropical notes. Moderate bitterness, lingering middle-register citrus. Pretty good. [3.5 = 7/10]
[9/25] Last had 7/13 when I guess it was trying to be à la mode, now trying to be a throwback. More tropical fruit than recalled. Stone fruit, citrus, crystal malt. Finish is well off-dry with medium bitterness. Just OK.

Bottle, 8C. Pale gold with a fluffy white head 2-3. Very modest aroma of grain, oranges, some lychees. Taste is sweet with some lemon as well as sweet oranges and hay. Dry finish with moderate bitterness and lingering citrus. The finish in particular is well done, but the beer is kind of meek.
