In Bayern sind wir verwurzelt. Seit 1886 brauen wir ausschließlich in Erding – jede einzelne Flasche. Seit jeher widmen wir uns der bayerischen Spezialität Weißbier.

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Erdinger Oktoberfest Weizen". Lightly hazy amber golden with a delicate, creamy head. Malty, soft lightly caramelish aroma. Extremely smooth mouthfeel. Light, malty flavour with some wheaty notes, but without the typical notes of citrus and banana normally found in a Hefe. Lacks a bit of personality, but still this is an interesting and pleasant brew. 131005

(Bottle 33 cl) Rarely - if ever - did I get a German Hefe in a 33 cl bottle, and also with the bottom designed to be a cap opener. All gadgets aside, this is still a beer. Hazy, deep orange beer with a surprisingly weak head. You really get confused as to whether this really is a Weissbier, as you don’t get any of the wonderful, fruity esters that categorize the style. A Hefe in looks only. Why? Not unpleasant, just bland. 200501

(Bottle 50 cl) Well, it had to come: a non-alcohol Weissbier. Appears as if it was intended to be filtered, yet some tiny particles make it slightly hazy. Has some wee fruity notes, but most of all it reminds me of a non-alcohol lager style. Has some of the same sweet, bready touches. No real experience, but not directly unpleasant either. 080501

Hazy nut brown, good brownish head. Sugary fruity nose (raisins, plums), aroma is fading quite quickyl, a bit smokey. Dry, roasted, not much sweetness, long roasted malty aftertaste. Drinkable dunkelweizen, but nothing really amazing.

Bottle. Creamy white head, mostly lasting, yellow colour, moderate citrus-hoppy aroma. No yeast in aroma or taste. More like pilsener than hefe.

Golden color, a big foamy off-white head. Lemony, malty harsh aroma, lacks all the good components of weizen aroma. Medium-bodied. Sugar is dominating flavor, only hints of wheat. Another useless kristallweizen.

Bottle. Cloudy golden colour. Small unstable head. Yeasty flavour, hint of pineapple. A bit flavourlfess, but OK, I guess.

Bottle. Clear golden colour. Rocky white head. Mouthfeel is OK, but there is not much wheat flavour in it. Still better than cheap lager...

Bottle. White head and slightly hazy yellow beer. Aroma of grains and hay. Not pleasant at all. Taste is better, but not good. Much the same as the aroma, with a malty aftertaste. Thin mouthfeeI. I think I’d rather risk being prosecuted from drunken driving than drink "non-alcoholic" beer. (050921)

Fine offwhite head over black-orange opaque body. Aroma is faint, but sweetly spicy and malty. Big, sweet toffee-like taste, yet smooth, with some spiciness and complexity. Lingers and settles in the mouth as it fades. Taste grows stronger as you drink more. (0.5l bottle, served Norwegian fashion, which means too cold and without all the yeast.)
