Description
Three Russians, two Czechs and one Norwegian walk into a bar…
and start writing the story of a microbrewery. In the year 2018, five men from the brewing world decided to combine their love of beer and years of experience and thus created an international brand - Axiom Brewery. Three owners from Russia, two from the Czech Republic. And now guess where did they build the brewery. Of course, at Haná in Prostějov (CZ).
And who is the sixth? He is a rebel. He is a superstar among brewers. He is a legend of craft beer. And he probably got bored in his vineyards in Greece because he joined us. Ladies and gentlemen, Norwegian brewmaster Kjetil Jikiun, founder of the first craft mini-brewery Nøgne Ø in Norway, which had grown so much that he left it and founded another mini-brewery called Solo in Crete, and now he brews beer in Prostějov.
We brewed our first batch at Axiom Brewery in mid-2019, and during our very first six months we immediately climbed to the top of the Ratebeer.com competition for the best new mini-brewery in the Czech Republic. And we had not descend from there even after 2020 and thus defended our ambitions.
We adore a wide range of beer styles, all kinds of flavors and fascinating aromas. We experiment and innovate with passion, with one goal in mind. To treat you with traditional and unusual taste experiences. So we brew, test, taste and taste and taste… and now we have already brewed dozens of different beer styles, including the mindblowing Session Mead style, which we brewed in the Czech Republic first and the public reaction was heartwarming.

Can from the Budějovice fest, brought to Zagreb and shared with Ogivlado and Hrabren(ich). Murky orange body, small white head, fairly fleeting but okay. Peachy and grainy notes in the aroma, very mild vanilla, quite okay but a bit rough. Sweetish taste, peachy, light herbal and earthy notes. Peachy-orange taste, light grainy-earthiness, a bit tart, not bad really, not a wow.

Can @ Astorion. Pours clear golden with creamy white head, lacings. Aroma of malt, little caramel, fruit, bitter citrus, light pine. Flavor is sweet, light bitter, malty, light caramel, fruity hops, citrus, alcohol. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, rather bitter finish with some warming alcohol. Feels stronger than the 8% ABV listed. 240220

Can at the Budějovice fest and hooo boy are my notes sketchy for this one. Tart lactic aroma, liime notes, both in the body and the taste, medium body. And I apparently liked it. Go me. Will rerate with better notes hopefully.

Tap at the Budějovice fest as Světlý Ležák 11°. 4.1% ABV. Golden body, white head. Light grainy aroma, clean, malt-driven. Lean taste, light grainy notes, light herbal touches, sweetish malty notes. A classic south Czech lager of sorts I guess. Not bad!

At Taphouse Munich as west coast IPA. Coffeeground and tropical fruit rind. Medium light dry body, fairly dry, light vegetal, spice, coffyish finish. A bit weird but drinkable.

Tap at Taphouse Munich. Black, dark brown head. Asphalt licorice nose, dark chocolate. Medium full chewy dry body. Licorice, dark roast, some naphtha, cummin, sticky dry roast rubber, not quite Greek tire fire.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is green walnuts, chocolate, roast. Taste is tire fire, chocolate, roast, petrol, liquorice, quite a bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Thick and rich, but the aroma is more for me than the flavour.
