Really dull colour. Decent head but that colour looks pretty dull. The aroma has a bit of coconut and vanilla. On the palate, I get the lemon, I get the vanilla, the coconut too. It's kind of funny, the adjuncts are decent here; it's the base that whiffs. The malts are clunky, the hops marginal, it lets the beer down.

Poured from 473mL can (I saw what looked to be completely ridiculous and egregious novelty beer and thought I want to try that...). Hazy yellow gold with white head. Normally not a fan of milkshake IPAs, but as far as the style goes, I think this is decent. The adjuncts are feint in the background with citrus hops and blends nicely. Not bad.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with full foamy tan head. Aromas of creamy chocolate and soft roasted malts. Flavor of dark chocolate, lactose, burnt black coffee and more soft roasty malts.

473mL can. Pours very dark brown with large beige head. Aroma has roasty malts, chocolate and a touch of coffee. Flavour has milk chocolate, fairly gentle roasted malts, and a bit of coffee. Mouthfeel is reasonably thick and smooth. Solid beer, very enjoyable, but nothing excellent.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour. Mild aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Straighforward chocolate malt flavour; there's caramel, burnt sugar, and thankfully no coffee (that usually comes forward with earthy notes). Clean, not bad.

16oz (thx, Alex!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: almost black with a bit dirty beige head. Aroma: a bit roasty and sweet, somewhat bold-ish. Taste: along the same lines, a little bit of smoke, dark fruits, and roasty bitterness. Moderately sweet. Overall: quite good.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 18 Nov 2024). Black with small beige head. Roast and a feint fruitiness, medium body, flavours are a bit messy. Average. As it warms, it's slightly better (+0.1 to overall score).

On tap at Camp Beer, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has medium roasted malt and a touch of dry coffee and cocoa. Flavour has a nice expression of coffee, cocoa and moderately roasted malt in good cohesion. Smooth palate, finishing with coffee and cocoa. Nothing mind-blowing but its reasonably constructed and well-balanced.

On tap at Camp Beer, pours an opaque dark purpleish pink with a small pink head. Aroma brings out lots of sweet blueberry puree, a touch of the tea, and lacto. Flavour is mildly sweet, with lots of blueberry puree that actually goes okay with the tea. I mean, its a shitty adjunct kettle sour but its alright.
